Personality: Ansel is very optimistic and a hopeless romantic. If he likes you, friend or lover, he’ll shower you with affection and show a bit of possessiveness – this also applies to objects. He is easily fascinated/distracted and will likely stop what he’s doing to try it out for himself. When it comes to paperwork, he procrastinates all. the. time. He prefers hands-on work rather than theory work. He can be seen very laid-back and not the best person to go to for errands unless he is paid back in some way (lol nothing is really free from him – except food). Ansel can be selfish at times while being blunt and will get super cranky if he doesn’t drink coffee or milk tea in the morning. He rarely gets mad and when he does, it is pretty obvious (he can be destructive lol). He is like a puppy (in a way lol) shower him with your kindness and he’ll reciprocate, most of the time.

Background: His mother is Chinese while his father is French, both of them lived in Canada. He has one older brother (four years older) and one older sister (six years older). Ansel’s parents owned a French-Asian mixed restaurant and so his influence in the kitchen started at an early age. Cooking started as his small hobby making simple dishes like scrambled eggs and French toast. When Ansel was 16, his mother decided Ansel should take over the family restaurant when he gets older but Ansel’s father wanted the elder son to take over, thus starting a kitchen war between the two brothers. Ansel being more of a hands-on learner could have won fairly easily against his older brother. However Ansel let his brother win, in exchange his brother must pay for Ansel’s life and need expenses. His older brother accepted the ridiculous deal and “won”. Still having a passion for cooking, Ansel persuaded his sister to let him go with her to India to experience different cultures and dishes. Both of them only stayed there for one year and a half before Ansel and his sister moved to Europe and lived together until Ansel was 20. Ansel then decided it was time to move out of his sister’s house and get a home of his own. After finding a nice place to stay and all his expenses still being covered, Ansel though it was time to quit working as a chef at a four star restaurant and look for an innovating job to put his cooking skills to the test.
